ABOUT

The Isley Building is a historic adaptive reuse project in Downtown Newark, New Jersey, reflecting Hanini Group’s approach to preserving and revitalizing the city’s historic properties through thoughtful real estate development. The restored mixed-use building combines contemporary residential living with commercial space while retaining the character and craftsmanship of the original structure.

The property features a vibrant ground-floor restaurant and four modern residential apartments, creating an active mixed-use environment within Newark’s downtown district. The restored façade preserves the building’s historic character through dark timber storefront detailing, expansive windows, and distinctive brick arches.

Inside, the residences combine modern functionality with original architectural character. Spacious layouts feature wood flooring, exposed brick walls, distinctive light fixtures, and skylights in select units, creating unique living environments that celebrate the building’s history while meeting contemporary residential standards.

Through the preservation and adaptive reuse of an existing historic property, The Isley Building demonstrates how historic redevelopment can support urban revitalization while creating new residential and commercial opportunities. The project reflects Hanini Group’s commitment to historic preservation, mixed-use development, and community-focused investment in Newark’s continued growth.
