 Over the last two decades, Hanini Group has delivered long-term value to our stakeholders, and ESG has now become an integral part of our value proposition. Our company has established five pillars to guide our ESG program, which are closely aligned with our core business strategy:

Tackle each project with a retrofit-first approach, prioritizing the energy efficiency of each building, while honoring local communities’ historic characteristics.


ESG is incorporated into every aspect of our business. Our approach to challenges, innovations, and future growth is filtered through it. We opted to advance our initiatives by setting 15 ESG targets that align with the UN sustainable development goals in 2022.

SDG#3-Good health and well-being

Space conditioning on all buildings, allowing fresh air to circulate throughout every floor without cross-contaminating the entire building.

SDG#8-Decent work and economic growth

  • Use at least 50% of minority labor throughout all development lifecycle stages.
  • Increase the number of employees that are from the city of Newark.
  • Increase employee volunteer hours.
  • Increase the number of diverse employees in management positions
  • Maintain an 80% employee satisfaction rate.

SDG#9- Industry innovation and infrastructure

  • Curate more outside common areas.
  • Increase the use of green spaces, including rooftop gardens and other onsite community gardens.

SDG#11- Sustainable cities and communities

  • Increase community presence from our tenants through our Good Neighbor program.
  • Maintain an 80% tenant satisfaction rate.

SDG#12-Responsible consumption and production

  • Utilize the majority of local suppliers.
  • Release an annual Sustainability Report.

SDG#13- Climate Action

  • Increase the number of LEED-certified buildings we develop, with a goal of producing minimum LEED Gold buildings.
  • Increase the use of Sustainable materials used in our construction process.
  • Control Co2 emissions, reduce waste consumption, and diminish water and energy consumption.                                                                                                                                                              
ENVIRONMENTAL

Hanini Group is committed to reducing our carbon footprint in each project we take part in. To us, this means certifying our projects through LEED and EnergyStar standards and utilizing the latest green building techniques.

 

We have a deep-rooted belief that restoration can be much more beneficial than resorting to new builds. Our strategy prioritizes retrofitting and creating new life into structures that once were. At Hanini Group, we are proud experts in restoring and preserving history and aim to revitalize standing structures not only for aesthetic charm but also because of long-term energy efficiency and value creation.
